Design Firm Members extends to full time employees and non design roles such as accountants, administrators, project coordinators and support staff within a design firm. To be qualified as a Design Firm Members, the firm’s principal must be an accredited member in good standing of the DDA.
Design Firm members do not have the right to vote and hold elective or appointive office in the Association.
Years ago, when I was working alone, I joined the steering committee to open our Toronto Chapter, then became president of that chapter. These experiences gave me a great boost of confidence because I was able to share resources, business tips, and experiences with fellow members. Of course, the group insurance rate continues to be a big bonus, and I really enjoy the education events because they enable me to share experiences with others and continually improve my business practices.
