Student Category

Student Project

Students may enter one project in this category. This may either be classroom or real-life projects but the entry must follow the specific rules for a student entry. All Students enrolled in CDECA’s recognized programs are eligible to enter. Entry fees are waived for Students who are members of CDECA.

Each entry consists of up to ten pictures (jpg format) and accompanying text. For an accurate evaluation of your education and skill level, the pictures should include the following:

  • Tactile Sample Board
  • Floor Plan (colour rendered)
  • Elevations (colour rendered; provide as many as required to explain the project space)
  • Floor Plan with overall room dimensions and ceiling heights indicated (not to be combined with the rendered Floor Plan)

Drawings may either be drawn by hand or by using a computer program. (If you are using a computer program be sure to save the drawing in jpg format.) You may also enhance your entries with other drawings and pictures as you wish. It is recommended that an entry concentrates on one room.

The text accompanying the first slide should be no more than 100 words describing the Client Profile and/or Design Concept Statement. All other slides may have up to 50 words of narrative. The first slide could be used to set the scene for the project as it will be shown to the judges when your 100-word Client Profile is read.

In order to find out what the judges are looking for, please see the Student Project Judging Form on the Judging Criteria page.

Please ensure that your images are legible as they cannot be expanded or zoomed during the judging process.
